So much of our youth is spent pressing through the rules and systems of our culture that we rarely notice our best attributes. A million moons ago, I too, wrote essay after essay requesting financial assistance to execute my college years, and when a friend described me as tenacious, I wondered, how so?  ​

To be fully awake in one's life is never easy, but let's feel free to revise any narrative that does not match how we imagine ourselves!​​ It's such an honor now, to shepherd kids through their college admissions process, helping them define their core values and develop academic writing habits needed for a successful first year away from home. Having taught college writing and American literature for twenty five years, I've graded thousands of university essays.

 

After 2020, it seemed urgent to create more opportunities that bridge high school students into confident writers and proactive thinkers. Blending organizational writing methods with a love for brief narrative reflection, I've cultivated simple revision strategies that turn hopeful college applicants into university-accepted young adults. In the digital age of AI, nurturing one's humanity remains my utmost intention: help students define their strengths while activating one's inner guide and self-awareness for college. ​
